June 10, 2014 – Nevada Cleared to Begin UAS Tests – The FAA approves the opening of its third of six Unmanned Aircraft Systems testing sites at Desert Rock Airport in Nevada, which is owned by the Department of Energy. The ScanEagle will help test whether UAS can fly safely at an airport. The opening of the Nevada location follows the FAA's recent announcement that it will consider allowing the use of small UAS for filming movies and television shows. Eyewitnesses on the ground reported seeing what looked like a missile, then an explosion in the sky. Malaysia Airlines said there were no distress calls from the plane.

But the panel of Trump-appointed judges said the CFPB’s setup is different from other self-funded agencies. The FAA sent a draft of the rules to the White House on Oct. 23, but the Office of Management and Budget has not released them yet.
